Looking for the perfect location for your intimate wedding (under 50 people) in Portland, Maine? Check out this list of amazing Portland Maine wedding venues that are ideal for smaller weddings. All are beautiful in their own way and there’s something for everyone! From stunning restaurants overlooking the water with amazing food, to 100+ year old sailboats, to greenhouses with wildflowers– the possibilities are endless.
RiRa is hands down one of the prettiest restaurants I’ve been to in the Portland Old Port. Their upstairs section is bright and airy with touches of classy coastal decor and stunning wooden beams. They also have fireplaces that are to die for. All of this plus views of the water? It’s hard to beat (Their food is delicious, too!). They have several spaces upstairs that can be rented for your day that range from 30 guests to over 100. I’m a personal fan of the Harbor Room (seats about 30 guests) and think it’s a great choice for a coastal Maine Intimate wedding.
A great choice for a “rustic meets the coast” vibe! Boone’s is an amazing place to host your intimate wedding in the Portland Old Port! Their upstairs floor has gorgeous wooden beams throughout, views of the water, and some of the best fresh seafood in town (their oyster/raw bar is AMAZING). If you want a classic Maine wedding with views of the water & great seafood– Boone’s is truly a fantastic choice out of all of the Portland Maine wedding venues!
Looking for a more classy & urban vibe? The Press Hotel has a few great options for micro weddings (less than 20 people) that are just beautiful! Stay in the Penthouse for getting ready then, have your ceremony on their rooftop with 360 views of the Portland Old Port. After that, host your reception dinner in one of their beautiful journalism themed rooms. Amazing!
Want a unique and fun place for your Portland Maine wedding venue? Bayside bowl gives a unique twist for a place to host your intimate wedding in Portland. Have your ceremony on their rooftop with a vintage airstream & the city of Portland as your background. Then, head downstairs for your reception with their inhouse catering & bar. After dinner, play some rounds of bowling and party the night away with your guests!
One of the most magical ways to get married in Maine is on a 100+ year old schooner in the Casco Bay. Portland Schooner Co. offers one of the most unique Portland Maine wedding venues where you can host up to 40 people on a charter of a lifetime. Imagine meeting your closest loved ones on the dock and then getting married on the bow at sea. Then, after the knot is tied, enjoy champagne, a raw bar & lobster rolls, and a delicious dessert while you cruise around Casco Bay. Sounds pretty dreamy, right?
(Pro tip: Just make sure you have a backup location just in case mother nature decides to be a stinker the day-of so you can still host your loved ones for food, drink, and merriment.)
Ok with having your wedding just outside of Portland? Check out these great spots!
Classy garden party meets wedding is a great way to describe this venue. Get ready in their cute farmhouse with modern touches, have your ceremony in their field of wildflowers, then host an amazing dinner party in their greenhouse with your closest loved ones & dance the night away. This venue is naturally beautiful with all of their flowers in bloom around the grounds and their unique, clear greenhouse (truly stunning when decorated with lots of twinkling lights).
Big fan of craft beer and great food? If you want a venue that is unique and will honor your love of craft beer, this place might be for you! Nonesuch River Brewing is a beautiful & classic New England post and beam building that has a mezzanine with an outdoor deck that you can book for your intimate wedding. Have your ceremony on the deck or at a nearby park and then head to Nonesuch for good food, great craft beer, and merriment.
