10 of the Best Maine Wedding Venues for your Intimate Wedding

Some of Maine’s best wedding venues for smaller guest lists at your fingertips.

Intimate/small weddings are my jam. There’s just something about the vibe of a small wedding that you can’t get with a large one! I’ve gathered a list of some of my favorite Maine wedding venues for intimate weddings and I am so happy to share them with you! All of these Maine wedding venues have great vibes and I personally think they are perfect for your small wedding day (under 50 people)!

Take a peek at the list below to see why these Maine wedding venues are some of my favorite in the state!

The Maine Boathouse

A small ceremony and reception site on the coast of Maine in Freeport. They have a terrace situated between the boathouse and coastal cabin– a great location for an al fresco dinner reception/party after your ceremony with cafe lights and local cuisine.

The Press Hotel Rooftop & Penthouse

The perfect classy & urban vibe. The Press Hotel has some great options for intimate weddings (less than 20 people) that are truly beautiful! Stay in the Penthouse for getting ready, have your ceremony on their rooftop with panoramic views of the Portland Old Port. After that, host your reception dinner in one of their many beautiful journalism themed rooms.

RiRa

RiRa is definitely one of the most gorgeous restaurants I’ve been to in the Portland Old Port. Their second floor section is bright & airy with touches of coastal decor and beautiful wooden beams. They also have many fireplaces that are breathtaking. All of this plus peaceful views of the ocean? It’s hard to beat (Their food is amazing, too!). They have several spaces upstairs that can be booked for your day that range from 30 guests up to 100. The Harbor Room is my personal favorite (seats about 30 guests) and I think it’s an amazing choice for a coastal Maine Intimate wedding out of the many Maine wedding venues.

Portland Schooner Co

Truly one of the most magical ways to get married in Maine is on a 100+ year old sailboat in the Casco Bay. Portland Schooner Co. offers one of the most incredibly unique Maine wedding venues where you can host up to 40 people on a sail of a lifetime. Imagine gathering with your closest loved ones on the dock and then getting married at the front of the boat at sea. Then, after the knot is tied, enjoy some bubbly, fresh oysters & lobster rolls, and a decadent dessert while you cruise around Casco Bay. Sounds like a dream, right?

(Pro tip: Make sure you have a backup location just in case it storms the day-of so you can still host your loved ones for food, drink, and merriment.)

Have your ceremony on their property or, head outside to the Camden Amphitheater or to Mount Battie( if you want a little adventure).
