He held his face, trying to to cry. He was about to marry his best friend; the love of his life. Set in a rural Maine camp, Linda and Dick’s elopement was truly authentic to them.
The only was to get to the camp was by ATV or AWD cars/trucks. The view was absolutely breathtaking. Linda and Dick wanted a small, simple elopement surrounded by the ones they hold the closest. There was a fire with music in the background, plenty of food and drink, and an over abundance of happy tears.
The camp has been in their family for years. YEARS. Countless memories had been made at this camp in the middle of nowhere. Kids, grandchildren, and their closest friends all held this camp close to their hearts. It only made sense that this is where they marry each other.
The event was a weekend affair. Kids swam in the lake and jumped off the dam. Family and friends pitched tents and hunkered down in the cabin. There were lawn games, dancing, and and overwhelming about of delicious food. Everyone had their part in helping to pull this event off; a family member made the cake, Lina’s daughter in law did her hair, Dick’s daughter did her makeup. Everyone’s brought their favorite foods to share and enjoy. The ceremony even had a strong sense of community. When Linda walked down to her future husband, she had each of the grand children give her a flower stem. Each flower stem from the grandchildren resulted in her bridal bouquet at the end of the aisle. How amazing is that?!
Linda and Dick’s Rural Maine Camp elopement was fun, relaxed, low key, community oriented, and 100% authentic to them.
Congratulations Linda and Dick! May your marriage have overflowing love and laughter.
